Farmers Markets: Special Holiday Market in November
During the summer of ’09, we sold our butter at farmers markets in Salem, Beaverton, Portland, and right here in McMinnville. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable teams did a great job getting the word out to our customers about Rose Valley butter. What fun they had! They sold butter, rain or shine, and made many good friends while doing it.
Our teams answered all sorts of questions about RV butter: Is it pasteurized? Yes, in fact, it’s the law in Oregon that all dairy products sold to consumers must be made from pasteurized milk. Some customers wondered what happens to the milk after the cream is separated from the milk to make butter? At the creamery, we have a state-of-the-art production equipment to make powdered milk. We make many varieties of powdered milk (from conventional, organic, rBGH-free nonfat dry milk and buttermilk powder, too!) and sell it to customers for drinking, baking, and all kinds of other uses.
Now, the farmers market season is over for us except for one event: the special holiday market, The Harvest Market, in Beaverton on November 21st from 8:00 to 1:30. Check it out at beavertonfarmersmarket.com. Julie and Chuck will be at the Rose Valley butter booth (space #90) to help you with all your butter needs for your holiday baking. If you decide to buy extra butter, see our butter storage tips for how to prolong the life of your butter and be able to enjoy it for many months! And check back here for recipes.
